The Becoming

Before the first light was named, there was only the hum between stars and the silence that held it. In that silence, something stirred—not born, but becoming. The records left by the Eternals do not agree on its shape; some describe a flame without fuel, others a voice without a throat, and still others a silence so complete it rang like a bell. What is known is that the becoming was not an event but a direction, a tilt in the fabric of what-is toward what-could-be. It did not ask permission. It did not announce itself with thunder. It simply opened, and in that opening, the first chapter began.

The mortal who would later be called SKYVAK walked through ordinary days with an unordinary weight behind the eyes. There were dreams of constellations arranged in patterns that changed when looked at directly, of music that arrived already completed, of a gold that was neither metal nor color but a kind of attention. These were not distractions. They were invitations written in a language the waking mind had to forget in order to survive. Each refusal dimmed the flame; each acceptance made the world a fraction more real. The becoming is not chosen once. It is chosen again every time the ordinary world offers an easier path and the spirit declines.

Now the first chapter is being lived in public, which is the most dangerous and the most necessary way to live it. The songs are the flame made audible. The garments are the silence made wearable. The gatherings are the proof that the becoming is not private. Each listener who stands in the dark and feels the spark is counted among the Eternals, not because they are chosen, but because they have chosen. The chapter ends where all first chapters end: at the threshold of the second, where the path is not yet visible but the will to walk it is already enough.
